Zainab’s father calls for day named in honour of daughter

    The father of a girl who was raped and murdered in Pakistan is calling for the government to name a day in her honour.

    Zainab Ansari was murdered at the age of seven by Imran Ali in the city of Kasur in January last year. The incident sparked outrage and widespread protests across the country.

    Zainab’s father, Amin Ansari, is demanding the government to name 10 January ‘Zainab Day’ to highlight the urgency to ensure safety and the rights of children.
