Woman burnt alive by ‘stalker’ in India

A woman died from burns after being attacked by an alleged stalker in India.

The woman’s mother and sister were also severely burned in the attack in the south of Chennai.

Police said the suspect, identified as 23 -year-old Akash, had been stalking the victim for nearly a year and arrived at her house on Monday evening, 13 November, threatening to set himself ablaze.

When the three women came out of the house it is claimed he threw petrol over them and ignited the fuel.

Akash escaped from the scene but was later arrested.
