The taxi-hailing app Uber is facing a lawsuit in India following a rape investigation.
A woman who was raped by an Uber driver in Delhi is suing the company for allegedly invading her privacy.
She believes the firm obtained her medical records during the investigation into the crime.
In December 2014 the 26-year-old woman, who has now moved to America, was raped by Uber driver Shiv Kumar Yadav.
Yadav was sentenced to life in prison. As well as the criminal case, the woman had sued Uber, who settled out of court.
However, she filed a new suit in the US on Thursday, 15 June, after reports emerged that Uber had investigated the complaint, obtained her medical records and speculated that she made up the claims to hurt the company’s reputation.
She has alleged that Uber violated her privacy and defamed her character.
