Two political activists in Pakistan have been handed life sentences for murdering two police officers.
Nadir Shah and Obaid, whose alias is K2, both members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), were found guilty of killing sub-inspectors Mohammad Rehan and Mohammad Nisar in March 2000 in the Soldier Bazaar area of Karachi.
The incident took place when police conducted pre-dawn raids on the then headquarters of the MQM.
The offenders have also been ordered to pay Rs 200,000 each to the legal heirs of the killed officers.
