Two Maoist rebels, including a commander, surrendered before the Jharkhand Police today, 4 May.
After receiving information from the militants, officers recovered a cache of arms in the Lohardaga district.
They seized 13 rifles, including SLRs and AK-47s, machine guns and 3,000 cartridges. They also discovered army-style fatigues and Maoist literature.
Nakul Yadav, a zonal commander of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), surrendered along with his aide Madan Yadav in the state capital, Ranchi.
It is believed Nakul Yadav was wanted in more than 70 cases related to Maoist activities, including the killing of policemen.
