A leader of Jammu and Kashmir's ruling People’s Democratic Party has been killed by unknown attackers in Srinagar.
Abdul Gani Dar, the Pulwama district president of the party, was shot at in his car by suspected terrorists whilst travelling through the Pinglan area of southern Kashmir.
He was taken to a hospital in Srinagar, 31km away, where he succumbed to his injuries.
It is reported that he was shot three times in the chest.
