A Swiss couple were attacked by a gang in India.

According to police, one of the tourists suffered a fractured skull and his partner required treatment for fractures to a hand.

The attack is alleged to have took place at Fatehpur Sikri, a monument 44km (27 miles) from the Taj Mahal.

Police have claimed a group had forced the female victim, Marie Droz, to take selfies with them, and continued to follow her and Quentin Jeremy Clerc for an hour, before attacking them with sticks.
