The army in Bangladesh arrested seven detectives over an alleged kidnapping.
Local media reports claim the detectives were taken into custody at a vehicle checkpoint on Marine Drive in Cox’s Baza, a city in the south east of the country.
The detectives were arrested for allegedly kidnapping a businessman and taking ransom money from the man’s family for his release.
After the man was released his family informed the authorities. It is believed the army team recovered the ransom money from the vehicle.
