The president of Pakistan’s opposition party has been put on judicial remand over a housing scheme scandal.
PML-N’s Shehbaz Sharif attended an accountability court in Lahore in connection with the Ashiana Housing scam.
A number of party activists were arrested outside the courtroom following clashes with police.
Sharif was arrested on 5 October over allegations he awarded lucrative contracts to favourites.
He has been sent to Kot Lakhpat jail and will be produced before the court again on 13 December.
