The deputy leader of the Pakistani Taliban has allegedly been killed in a drone strike.
The militant organisation has said Khalid Mehsud, a senior member of the banned Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan group (TTP), was killed in a US attack in North Waziristan, near to the border with Afghanistan.
The TTP has been blamed for dozens of suicide bombings and other attacks.
In December, gunmen from the militant group stormed a college in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, killing at least nine people and injuring 36.
