Pakistan plans crackdown on militants

The Pakistan government says it is planning a crackdown on militant groups in the country.

Imminent action against extremist groups was confirmed by Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, while talking to Dawn News.

He said the government had taken the decision that there would be stern action against all militant groups.

However, he refused to give any timeline for the operation against groups like Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), who are accused of masterminding the Pulwama attack that triggered the latest crisis with India.
