Pakistan claims diplomat called back from Delhi over harassment

Diplomatic tensions between Pakistan and India have risen following claims on both sides that their envoys have been harassed.

Pakistan says its High Commissioner for New Delhi has been called home for “consultations” after alleging repeated incidents of harassment with the collusion of Indian authorities.

New Delhi has responded by claiming the diplomat’s return to Islamabad was not a “recall” but a routine matter.

India countered the claims by saying its own staff have suffered harassment whilst serving in its neighbouring country.
