A Pakistani airline has launched an inquiry after one of its carriers left two coffins behind in New York.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was due to carry human remains from JFK Airport to Lahore to repatriate the deceased but left the cargo behind by mistake.
It was PIA's last New York-Lahore flight, as it had just suspended the route - so Etihad Airlines had to step in to complete the transfer of one of the bodies, as the other was buried in Maryland by request of relatives.
The airline said the error was caused by the handling company on the ground.
