One killed at polling booth in Bengal

One person has been killed at a polling booth during a phase of voting for India’s general election.

In West Bengal, a group of men attacked 52-year-old Tiyarul Sheikh with sharp weapons following an altercation when he went to cast his vote.

A high voter turnout was recorded in the third and largest phase of Lok Sabha elections covering 116 constituencies, amid complaints of malfunctioning voting machines in many states.
