Police have baton charged protesting nurses in Karachi.
The medical staff were protesting outside the Press Club, demanding an increase in salaries and allowances.
Dunya News reports that nurses were manhandled and a number arrested by police.
Elsewhere, the Young Doctors Association staged protests across Punjab against the possible privatisation of government hospitals.
