Letter causes Indian plane hijack scare

A letter found on a plane bound for Delhi from Mumbai caused the flight to be diverted due to a hijack scare.

A crew member found the note onboard the craft, which contained the threat of a bomb if the plane was not taken to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The plane was diverted to Ahmedabad where an inspection discovered no danger and that the letter was a hoax.

A man identified as Birju Kishore Salla was taken into custody, with local media reports claiming the suspect wanted to damage the company Jet Airways so that an employee he had become infatuated with would leave the airline carrier to work for his business in Mumbai.
