An Indian jeweller has been arrested by authorities in the UK in connection with one of the largest bank frauds in India’s history.
Nirav Modi, whose jewellery has been worn by the likes of model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and actress Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, is wanted for his alleged role in a fraud totalling some $2bn (£1.5bn).
He left India in early 2018 and has not returned since.
Police said the arrest had been made on behalf of Indian authorities, who have asked for his extradition.
