Imran Khan not to invite foreign leaders to oath-taking

The leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf party Imran Khan says he will not invite foreign leaders to his planned oath-taking ceremony.

The former cricketer is in pole position to become the next prime minister of Pakistan after securing the support of allies and roping in several independent winners to form a majority.

However, Khan has apparently turned back from previous plans and has decided to conduct an austere ceremony, without the pomp of other leaders of state.

A party spokesperson said: "There will be no show of extravagance at the event."
