Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has hit back against Donald Trump following a tirade by the American leader.
Trump spoke to Fox News on Sunday 18 November, claiming the White House pulled military aid to Pakistan in part because Osama bin Laden was found in Pakistan in 2011, and saying that Imran Khan’s country doesn’t do “a damn thing” for the US.
Prime Minister Khan responded to Trump's statements, saying that Islamabad had decided to "participate in the US War on Terror" although no Pakistani was involved in the 9/11 attacks.
He added that Pakistan “suffered 75,000 casualties” in the war and “over $123 billion was lost”.
Khan suggested that “instead of making Pakistan a scapegoat” the US should ask why, despite massive interventions in Afghanistan, “the Taliban today are stronger than before”.
