Honour killing’ attempt in police station

A 38 year old man allegedly stabbed his 23-year-old niece inside a police station in Ghaziabad in India, on suspicion of an attempted honour killing after she “shamed” the family by eloping with a man from another community.

Kailash Kumar was arrested after the attempted murder at the Loni police station and the weapon was also recovered. Kumar came to the police station to meet his niece and had a knife hidden in his clothes.

Police said the woman has been admitted to a hospital for treatment where her condition is said to be stable.
