Five students drown near Kakinada beach in the Bay of Bengal

    Two girls and three boys have drowned in Andhra Pradesh in the Bay of Bengal.

    It is believed that 19 students visited Kakinada beach from Kapulapalem village yesterday (6 April 2017) when 8 of the students decided to enter the water to swim.

    The group were washed away but three were saved by local fisherman. They are said to be in a serious condition in a local hospital. Unfortunately, the other five students were found dead on the shoreline later in the evening.

    They have been identified as Vamsi, Pandu, Pithani Srinu, Seelam Durga and Anitha.

    Sympathies were extended to the families of the deceased by the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, who is also ensuring the proper treatment of the victims still at hospital.
