Emergency declared in flood-hit region of Pakistan

    An emergency has been declared after three people have died in floods in the Balochistan province of Pakistan.

    Dawn News reports that around 450 families have been affected by weather-related incidents in the region and damage has been caused to communication infrastructure.

    An emergency has been declared in worst-hit Lasbela, where flash floods submerged villages.

    Operations are underway to evacuate those stranded and provide relief to affected residents.
