Bangladesh has signed a deal to return Rohingya Muslims to Myanmar.
It is hoped the deal will pave the way for hundreds of thousands of refugees, who escaped military violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine State, to begin to return from Bangladesh within the next two months.
It is estimated more than 600,000 have fled to neighbouring Bangladesh since Rohingya attacks on police posts prompted a military crackdown in late August.
The crisis has been called ethnic cleansing by the UN and the US.
Concerns have been raised by aid agencies over the safety of returning Rohingya from further violence.
