An accused suspect in the rape and murder of a 16-year-old girl in Himachal Pradesh has died in custody.
Local sources say Suraj Singh was strangled by another suspect, Rajinder Singh, whilst in a lock-up in Kotkhai on Tuesday, 18 July.
His death has sparked outrage in the community, resulting in angry mobs pelting the police station with stones.
Singh was arrested with five others over the gangrape and murder of a girl who went missing on her way home from school on 4 July.
