70 students of a university in Pakistan have been arrested in a crackdown on protests.
Local reports say students of the Quaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad began protests over several demands, including the overturning of expulsions and against the increasing of fees.
Police were called in by the university’s administration today, 23 October, in a bid to reopen the university, as the organisation claims it has met the demands set out by the students.
Those continuing protests were taken into custody.
