25 killed in Lahore bomb blast

At least 25 people have been killed in an explosion in Lahore.

It is reported that 53 others were also injured in what is suspected to have been a suicide bomb attack.

The blast took place near to the Arfa Karim IT Tower on Lahore's Ferozepur Road yesterday afternoon, 24 July.

A Punjab Government spokesperson said a car bomb struck an old vegetable market.

Local police have said the bombing targeted their colleagues, who were providing security for demolition work at a building nearby. Many of the casualties are believed to be police officers.
