22 people have been detained in Pakistan over protests following an attack on a military check point.
On Sunday 26 May five army officers were injured in the attack in the North Waziristan tribal district. Dawn News reports that three individuals who attacked the post lost their lives and 10 others were injured.
Authorities say the incident had its roots in the arrest of two suspects for their alleged involvement in another attack on an army check post last month.
A video a Pashtun Tahafuz Movement leader provoking people to attack the check post on Sunday has emerged.
The movement’s workers held demonstrations, leading to the latest arrests.
