17 police officers charged over death of two men in Pakistan

A murder investigation has been launched in Pakistan implicating 17 police officers in the killing of two men.

The officers, including a station house officer, are suspected of being responsible for a "staged event" in Faisalabad during 2013.

It has been alleged the station house officer received a Rs. 120,000 bribe from the complainant of a robbery case and that two men, idenitfied as Saqlain and Ramzan, were taken in a van and then asked to run. It is claimed that when the two men refused to run, the police tied their hands and opened fire on them.

None of the suspects have yet been arrested though local reports claims most are no longer in service, due to suspension, dismissal and retirement.
