11 feared drowned as boat capsizes in Nagpur

11 people are feared dead after a boat capsized in India.

Reports say a group of men were celebrating a birthday on a boat on the Vena Dam in Nagpur District.

Just before the boat capsized they streamed a video on Facebook Live.

Rescue forces along with local divers began search operations after locals witnessed the boat turning over and called police.

So far six bodies have been traced.

An official has said the men were aged between 20-25 and that eight out of the 11 were from Nagpur.

The official added that the cause behind the incident was not yet known.
