You can find out more about Sharp by visiting his plaque to hear more about his work and his discoveries and see his calculation of Pi laid out in the Cathedral.

There will also be a talk from Rod Hine of the Bradford Astronomical Society all about space, and lots of space-themed craft activities to take part in. You'll also be able to travel from the Sun to Pluto by visiting our inflatable solar system - and you can even take a selfie at Saturn or go on your own mission to Mars!

And for those who are big fans of the movies, there will be a 30-minute musical spectacular with themes from the films played on our organ. There will also be some intergalactic refreshments on offer, and a chance to go on a short tour of the Cathedral.

This event is also part of Yorkshire Churches Day (YCD). YCD is a chance for every place of worship in the county to open up and showcase the amazing history and heritage found inside their buildings.

it's day to tell stories and bring to life the variety, beauty, history and sheer wonder of Yorkshire’s churches, chapels and places of worship. The aim of the day is to encourage everyone to visit their local church even if they have never stepped foot inside a church before. It will be a day for those who are curious about history and heritage of their local surroundings.
