Three Released On Police Bail After Fatal Road Crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on Manningham Lane in Bradford yesterday.

Officers were called at 8.51am Monday morning (July 30) to Manningham Lane and found a 59-year-old man with serious injuries. He was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary but sadly died afterwards.

The 59 year old man who died in hospital has now been named as Richard Taylor from the Bingley area.

A post mortem is expected today.

It is believed the victim had been in collision with a white Seat Ibiza car which made off from the scene immediately afterwards. A silver Toyota Yaris was also believed to be driving with the Ibiza at the time of the incident.

Both vehicles were later recovered and are currently being forensically examined by officers.

The driver of the Seat, a 21 year-old Bradford man, has now been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Two other Bradford males have also been arrested in connection with the incident. The three men arrested in connection with the incident have all been bailed pending further enquiries.

Enquiries remain ongoing and detectives are appealing for witnesses who saw either vehicle shortly before the incident, or anyone who has information about the occupants of either vehicle, to come forwards.

Anyone who has information can contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team (MCET) on 01924 293047 or CrimeStoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
