British Transport Police are appealing for information after the body of a teenage boy was found on the railway line close to New Pudsey rail station.
In a statement a spokesman confirmed that: “Shortly before 7pm last night, Monday, 28 November, British Transport Police officers were called following reports of a body on the line near to New Pudsey rail station.”
Officers attended alongside colleagues from West Yorkshire Police and local paramedics and discovered the body of a teenage boy, believed to be from the Bradford area.
BTP is now working to formally identify the deceased and to determine the circumstances surrounding the death although, at this stage, it is not being treated as suspicious.
Officers will assist in the compilation of a report for the coroner and ask that anyone with information about the incident contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40.
