Congratulations to the first ever Sunrise Radio (Yorkshire) cricket team for their victory in yesterday’s Building Winning Teams event part of the Yorkshire Cricket Mela.

The team beat off stiff competition from cricket teams in the Business Link sponsored six six matches finally emerging victorious after beating the HSBC team in the final by seven runs.

Local businessmen got their chance to sharpen up their team work and demonstrate their cricketing skills as part of the Yorkshire Cricket Mela.

Yorkshire County Cricket Club chief executive Stewart Regan and director of professional cricket Martyn Moxon started the day by hosting a team-building workshop.

The purpose was to show how sporting values such as leadership, competition and will-to-win can utilised in business.

The Building Winning Teams is just one of a host of events being staged as part of The Yorkshire Cricket Mela which has been organised to promote Pakistan’s home Test match with Australia at Headingley from July 21-25

The Chief Executive of Sunrise Radio (Yorkshire) Usha Parmar congratulated the team, "I was very proud and I look forward to winning this every year," she smiled "as there are plans to make this great business networking opportunity an annual event".

"We now, she added, plan on having our own established cricket team."
