Police in Bradford are appealing for the public's help in tracing the people responsible for a series of racist attacks on a house in the Buttershaw area of the city.
As recently as last night, the address on Buttershaw Drive, which is the home of an elderly couple in their seventies, was daubed with racist graffitti. In the past the house has also been the victim of similar attacks, as well as having bricks and eggs thrown at its windows and doors.
As a result of these reports, officers from the Buttershaw Neighbourhood Policing Team have increased patrols in the area to tackle the issues and are in close contact with the couple living at the address.
PC Rob Bowman of the Buttershaw Neighbourhood Policing Team said:
"No-one should have to suffer this type of cowardly abuse, least of all an elderly couple in their seventies. The offenders here are praying on the weak and vulnerable and we are determined to put a stop to this kind of criminal behaviour.
"We are working very closely with local schools, mosques, shopkeepers and our partner agencies in order to ensure that the quality of life for all residents is improved and we as part of that work are also asking anyone with any information about this or any similar incidents to contact the PC 2021 Rob Bowman or PCSO 694 Storey at Buttershaw NPT on (01274) 376668 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111."
