Traffic officers from Harrogate are seeking witnesses following a serious road traffic collision which occurred on the B6161 at approximately 3.30pm on Tuesday 18 May 2010.

The collision occurred between the Traveller?s Rest and the Jubilee roundabouts and involved a black Suzuki motorcycle which was heading towards Killinghall and a silver Ford Mondeo travelling in the opposite direction.

As a result of the collision the rider of the motorcycle, who is a local man, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious leg injuries.  He remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Police are particularly interested in speaking with the occupants of a dark blue sports car, with its roof down, which was travelling towards Killinghall at the time of the collision.

The B6161 was closed until 7.30pm following the collision.
