Police in Bradford are appealing for witnesses to an armed robbery. It happened at 11.46am this morning (4th May) at a Jewellers on Great Horton Road.

A vehicle was reversed into window of the jewellers and four or five men entered the premises and threatened staff. The suspects were carrying what are believed to be firearms. It's not yet known what if anything they stole but they made off in another waiting vehicle. None of the staff were injured but were left shaken after a shot was fired.

Detective Inspector Ian Bryar said: "I would appeal to anyone with any information about this incident or the suspects to contact us immediately.

This was a serious crime and it is only extremely fortunate that no-one was injured when a gun was fired inside the shop."
