The Rotary Club of Bradford Bronte is celebrating one of the biggest Awards from the Big Lottery Fund, which will help ensure the success of People in the Park, Bradford's Big Family Fun Day which is taking place in Lister Park on Saturday 8 May. A cheque for £9,690
was presented to jubilant Club Members at a recent meeting, by Mohammed Amran from the Regional Lottery Board.
“This money will help us enormously” said Andrew Idle, Vice President of Bradford Bronte Rotary Club, “it means that every penny raised on the day will go to benefit local charities, rather than helping to pay for the organisation of the event.”
“We think this is one of the biggest grants ever given to support a Charity Fundraising event” said Andrew, “certainly it is in Yorkshire & Humberside. What's brilliant is that it takes away all the worry of having to raise enough from the event to be able to put it on, before we can start raising money for our nominated Charities – Bradford Young Carers & Bradford Cancer Support.
We'd like to give the Lottery a very big vote of thanks for this award and assure them that it will be spent wisely, to generate much needed funds for these two worthy local causes”.
People in the Park, organised by the Rotary Club of Bradford Bronte, will take place in Lister Park on Saturday 8th May and features, a Fun Run, Free Entertainment, Children's Rides, over 50 Stalls, a performance of the Musical Comedy Rockella, as well as an “It's a Knockout” style Team Challenge.
