The Indian Supreme Court has ruled that sex with an underage bride is illegal.
A legal clause which allows men to have intercourse with their wives if the girl is over 15 has been struck out.
The judgement has now ruled that the age of marital consent has been raised to 18, the age of consent for non-married intercourse in the country.
Whilst the ruling is welcomed, many observers are concerned with how the order will be successfully implemented across the nation.
