Automation & Local Programming

Interactive programming on Sunrise Radio (Yorkshire) is from 7am until 11pm.

Local Programming

The Sunrise Radio (Yorkshire) studios are based in Bradford City Centre and our mix of programming aims to take into account the areas diverse population, something that no other radio station in the region has previously attempted.

Our local place/event of the day which is promoted in peaktime programming is of particular interest to the local population.

Events Diary - a roundup of places and upcoming events for listeners to visit is broadcast once a week every Saturday from 1pm.

Events & Charities we support

Sunrise Radio (Yorkshire) works closely with various charities with regular updates on events and activities planned.  An example is the appeal we ran in 2004 and 2005 for the tsunami and Kashmir earthquake respectively. The generous donations, made by the listeners to this worthy cause were handed
over to Oxfam.

Sunrise Radio (Yorkshire) from September 2007 is supporting LifeCare UK - is a relief and development charity, which aims to alleviate the suffering of the victims of the South Asian Earthquake, and eventually all needy & poverty stricken people of the world. It is an independent voluntary organisation, founded in 2005, by a group of like minded people committed to charitable causes . LifeCare will work worldwide, mainly in the areas of:

  1. Emergency Aid & Relief
  2. Community Building including Housing, Health & Education
  3. Alleviate poverty & financial hardship in poor areas

Coverage Highlights

Sunrise Radio (Yorkshire) was an official media partner for the IIFA weekend held in Yorkshire (2007). We aired exclusive interviews and coverage of the events connected with the IIFA's.

Particular interest to the Asian community is the special religious programming we run during the Asian festivals such as Ramzan, Diwali and Vaisakhi aswell as broadcasting special programmes to the Asian Christian community at Christmas.

News-In-Focus: Every week-day at 1700 hours this round-up of the day's news, weather forecast, financial news and interviews with key spokespeople is essential listening for folk in West Yorkshire who are passionate about what's happening in their community.

At Sunrise Radio (Yorkshire) we recognise that for whatever reason it is sometimes difficult be it for financial, temporal or cultural reasons to access information, support and advice and for that reason we broadcast a number of 15-minute programmes during the week after the 1900 hours news bulletin featuring experts, voluntary groups and charities with the aim of providing responsible, reliable and relevant facts and views. Monday the theme is Sports, Wednesday alternates between Education and Business, Thursday is our Community Day and on Friday we either focus on Health or Legal issues.

During the summer festival season Sunrise Radio (Yorkshire) is actively involved in the regions biggest melas (Asian Party in the Park) including Bradford Mela which has an attendance of over 180,000 people. Bringing Live interviews and performances from these events has resulted in a large and loyal following.

Music Playlist
